Sophie Palmer

Data Analyst
Prior to joining More in Common in 2026, Sophie worked in football data analytics, developing statistical models and insights to support player recruitment and tactical decision-making in professional sport. She brings a varied background in statistics and machine learning, with quantitative experience across a range of academic and applied research. Her work has included ecological population modelling, wildfire risk prediction and causal epidemiological analysis of HIV transmission, with research experience at the Future Impact Group, the Algorithmic Governance Foundation, and the Centre for Research into Ecological & Environmental Modelling. Sophie studied Mathematics at the University of St Andrews, before completing an MSc in Statistical Science at the University of Oxford.
