Makerfield has the 7th highest salience of immigration in the country. An estimated 62% of Makerfield residents consider immigration to be a top issue, making it the 7th highest in Britain. Top of the list is Boston and Skegness, where 66% consider it a top issue.

Keir Starmer’s seat has the 8th lowest salience: only 29% of those living in Holborn and St Pancras consider immigration to be a top issue. Islington North is the least concerned constituency, with only 22% citing immigration as a top issue.

Urban and affluent constituencies stand out for low immigration salience, whereas places with high skills and employment deprivation are far more concerned about migration.
